Square Inch Price

I charge 3 cents per square inch for edge-to-edge designs. Example: A quilt top is 60 inches x 80 inches. 60 x 80 = 4800 x .03 = $144.

Custom digital quilting starts at $0.04 per square inch. My minimum quilting charge is $50. This means that a small quilt or table runner's square inch price will be rounded up to the $50 minimum.

Batting

Batting is a separate charge and is NOT included in the square inch price.

I use and stock my favorite Quilters Dream batting in the 80/20 cotton/poly blend, 100% cotton, and in the 100% poly. I have limited quantities of wool batting in stock, please ask for availability.

I charge for batting by the linear inch from queen rolls of batting except in the case of special orders.  I will use only what is needed for your quilt (smallest side + a 6" margin) and charge per inch.

For example, if you have a 60" x 80" quilt, I would cut 66" of the batting of your choice.
66" of 100% cotton deluxe loft @ $0.40/in = $26.40
66" of 80/20 cotton/poly blend @ $0.33/in = $21.78
66" of 100% poly @ $0.26/in = $17.16

Thread

I stock several threads, including Glide (#40 & #50 weight) and some So Fine (#50) threads. I include 2 bobbin changes (and the corresponding top thread) in the quilting per square inch charge. If dense quilting is requested and more than 2 bobbins are needed, there is a nominal charge for each additional bobbin, depending on the type of thread used. (A typical thread charge is $3-10 depending on the size of the quilt and the density of the quilting and I will let you know ahead of time of any thread charges.)

Photography

I'm not a professional photographer but I do my best to take "nice" photos :) If you like, I am happy to take photos of your quilt and text/email you those images to use however you would like. I'd just ask that you credit me for the quilting if posting publicly. This extra service is included in your square inch price.

Shipping

Shipping your top and backing to me: I live in Newcastle, WA USA, and would be happy to receive your top and backing by mail. I'd recommend sending your materials enclosed in some kind of sack or bag to protect against possible moisture in transit and then placed in a hard-sided cardboard box. Make sure the box is securely taped and labeled clearly.

Return shipping: I will send your quilt back to you in the manner described above via USPS Priority mail (using flat rate when possible/economical). Priority mail comes with $50 of insurance and a tracking number but please indicate on your intake form if you would like me to buy any additional insurance on your behalf. It's a great idea to insure your valuables against loss or damage while with the Postal Service, but I don't require it.

Other Costs

I'm required by the State of Washington to collect a 6.5% sales tax on the quilting service portion of an invoice. As mentioned above, if you purchase batting from me, that is a separate fee.  Batting, shipping, and any design/pantograph fees are not subject to sales tax.
